Erik Festraets has over 20 years of experience in the fiber industry. He is the Strategic Marketing Director for Fixed Networks at Nokia. He was the president of the FTTH Council Europe for the last three years until June this year. Before that he was a member of the board of directors at the Council for five years. As Strategic Marketing Director for Fixed Networks at Nokia his role is consulting and sharing best practices with carrier and network operators in many regions. His agenda is to help with successful business models, go to market tactics and deployment strategies, suitable for the broadband market. He conducts workshops with Nokia’s major customers on fiber access, business, and network strategy. He obtained his Masters degree in civil engineering at the University of Louvain in 1985.
